What a fantastic Sports Day!
Tuesday was a day full of fun, laughter, determination and plenty of team spirit as our Weelsby students travelled to Beverley Cricket Ground for this year’s Sports Day.
The journey was just as enjoyable as the event itself, with songs filling the coach as students took in the beautiful views of the Humber Bridge and the surrounding countryside.
Once we arrived, the races got underway, with everyone cheering on their friends and classmates. From the marathon to the 100m, 200m and relay races, every event was filled with enthusiasm, encouragement and fantastic sportsmanship.
After a delicious lunch kindly provided by the East Riding team, it was time for the afternoon activities. Students split into teams to take on a variety of individual challenges, giving everyone the chance to get involved, have fun and show what they could do.
By the end of the day, there were plenty of happy (and very sleepy!) students on the journey home.
Bailey said: “The best bit of the day was winning the 100 metres!”
Charlie said: “It was a lovely day and we all had fun on the way.”
We are incredibly proud of every student who took part. The day was a wonderful example of how Linkage College campuses come together to support one another and create memorable experiences for everyone.
A huge thank you to all the staff who supported our students throughout the day, and a special shout-out to Kayleigh for her fantastic organisation and support, helping to make the day run so smoothly.
Well done, everyone – you were all amazing!
