The Hospitality and Retail team at Weelsby Campus had a fantastic trip to Grimsby College with the kind help of Michelle. Students explored the catering and retail facilities, including large industrial kitchens, and got a real insight into Level 3 courses.
Past Linkage students have gone on to complete Level 3 at GIFFHE and even enter the university hub, inspiring current students’ aspirations. Bradley said, “I now understand a Level 3 course and, with Linkage’s help, could go on to become a chef.” Ryan added, “It’s similar to ours but on a bigger scale,” while Luke couldn’t resist trying their bakery shortbread.
Everyone had a great time and the students have been invited back for the college’s culinary seafood day. A big thank you to GIFFHE and Michelle for hosting – we can’t wait to return!
