Students at our East Riding campus had the opportunity to learn more about careers within the NHS during an informative talk delivered by a Health Visitor and School Nurse.
During the session, students explored the wide variety of roles available across the NHS and even took part in a hands-on activity. They practised weighing and measuring a realistic baby doll, including measuring height and head circumference, while learning how to carefully handle and transfer a baby safely.
Josh asked a great question during the talk: “What work experience did you do?” This opened up a discussion about the importance of voluntary work, such as supporting residents in care homes or helping in schools for those interested in working with others.
Students left the session understanding how work experience can help build confidence, develop transferable skills, and improve future job opportunities across the 350+ different roles within the NHS.
Thank you to our visitors for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our students.
