An incredible start to the academic year for our new Project SEARCH interns!
Our amazing new cohort has just completed an action-packed, exciting couple of weeks for their induction period. They have hit the ground running by exploring future opportunities, building essential workplace skills, and connecting with the team.
Here is a look at what they have been up to:
- On the Move: Department tours to explore different rotations and placements, as well as being out and about in our community to work as a team and complete tasks set by tutors and job coaches.
- Building Connections: Meet and greets with managers, mentors, and future colleagues.
- Wellbeing Support: A fantastic workshop with Compass Go, focusing on mental health and wellbeing.
- Financial Guidance: Crucial advice from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) regarding finances, employment, and wages.
- Expert Guidance: Vital support from the Educational Psychologists with North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC).
- Careers Information: Interns visited the careers café in Freshney Place to see what services they offer and how they can assist the interns in the future.
What’s next?
The hard work officially begins this week! Some of our interns have successfully started their official work placements, while others are continuing with their induction period and completing mandatory training for our host businesses.
Most importantly, the interns have spent this valuable time getting to know each other and building a strong bond with the Project SEARCH and Linkage Community Trust team.
What a truly great start to the year this has been! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as we continue to celebrate our interns’ achievements throughout their journey!
