Bringing Joy to the Community with Weelsby Performing Arts
Throughout the academic year, the Weelsby Performing Arts team regularly visits three local care homes to share their talents, spread joy, and strengthen community connections.
These visits give students the opportunity to perform for residents, meet care home staff, and learn more about how care homes operate day to day. Students also explore different job roles within the care sector, helping them consider future post-college employment opportunities.
For many students, performing in smaller care home settings also helps build confidence and prepares them for larger community stage performances.
The team especially loves visiting Ladysmith Care Home – from seeing the pet goats to putting smiles on residents’ faces, every visit is always full of warmth, laughter, and memorable moments!
